Total At Home Friendor Edition: SBM Event Co Brings it Home
With the inception of "Sweet Petite Events" in the Spring of 2020, Melissa Brown decided that guest limits and social distancing would not ruin the upcoming wedding season. Inspired by creative details that are often not possible with large weddings, Melissa turned a negative into a positive; showing clients that they could still have the event of their dreams. Using personalized touches, high end finishes and giving guests the personal attention, these Sweet Petite celebrations made for Pinterest worthy moments. We asked Melissa to contribute to our Bring it Home photoshoot to show you how to style your home events for the Holidays and beyond.
What inspires (or inspired) your design:
With the deep colors, crisper air and the sense of energy that comes with the cooler days of Autumn I wanted to create a distinct sense of timeliness in the design that hinted at fall colors without being too conventional. That helps the design feel fresh and keeps your guests surprised and delighted.
A tip on hosting an event at home:
Don’t assume your home is too small or too large for your event. Ask your rental company or event planner for ways to customize your space and get creative. A patio can be transformed into the central area for guests in early fall and spring and in winter with a covered, heated tent.
A favorite small event that you have worked on during this wild time:
The smaller more intimate weddings have been amazing to create true personalized experiences for everyone in attendance. We worked with Lindsay and Paul to create a menu that was thoughtfully crafted to each guest's favorite food, drink and dessert creating a truly loving and individually memorable experience.
